Argentina's economy contracted more than expected in the third quarter, preliminary data from the national statistics agency showed Tuesday.
Gross domestic product, or GDP, fell 0.8 percent year-over-year in the third quarter, faster than the 0.6 percent drop expected by economists. The economy had remained unchanged in the previous quarter.
Compared to the previous quarter, gdp contracted 0.5 percent after the 0.8 percent expansion in the second quarter.
A separate report showed that industrial production declined 2.1 percent year-over-year
in November, more than the 1.3 percent consensus estimate.
On a month-over-month basis, production fell 1.1 percent in November.
