Greece's retail sales growth accelerated in October after easing sharply in the previous month, preliminary figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Wednesday.
The volume of retail trade climbed 3.7 percent year-on-year in October, faster than September's 2.2 percent growth. In August, sales surged 7.3 percent.
Retail sales, except automotive fuel rose 2.6 percent annually in October, after a 0.8 percent gain in the previous month.
Sales of food products grew 4.5 percent during the month and sales of automotive fuel gained 2.1 percent.
On a monthly basis, retail sales volume declined 1.5 percent in October.
The turnover index in retail trade increased 0.5 percent from the previous year and dropped 1.5 percent from last month.
