Hungary's current account surplus rose more-than-expected in the three-month period to September, figures from the Magyar Nemzeti Bank showed Tuesday.
The current account surplus increased to EUR 1.397 billion in the third quarter from EUR 820 million a year ago. Economists had forecast a EUR 1.285 billion surplus for the month.
In the same period last year, the surplus was at EUR 1.5 billion.
Surplus in the goods and services trade rose to EUR 2.2 billion in the third quarter from EUR 1.7 billion in the previous quarter. A year ago, the surplus stood at EUR 2.4 billion.
